Windows chief Steven Sinofsky is due on stage at the D9 conference in about 10 minutes here, and CNET has posted some shots of Microsoft folks setting up his talk.
But when WinRumors' Tom Warren speculated that the shots are of tablets running Windows 8, he was immediately shot down by Microsoft PR chief Frank Shaw, who tweeted. "Wrong. Try again."
A minute later, when Warren said that they demo units are definitely running ARM processors, Shaw again denied it: "Strike two."
So what the heck are these things? Big touch-screen slates? Only demo units?
